What is DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology)?
DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) is a blockchain-based database system mandated by TRAI in June 2020 for all Indian businesses sending commercial SMS. It ensures only registered entities can send bulk messages to Indian mobile numbers.
Also, telecom companies can access and manage these details from wherever they are. TRAI introduced DLT registration in June 2020 through its Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC) regulations to combat fraudulent SMS in India. [Source: trai.gov.in]
